You would literally have to pay me to play an FPS on the Playstation. It's not that I don't think that they can deliver a great FPS game, but rather that the controller sucks and always has for FPS's. My personal preferences and requirements are TRIGGERS and RUMBLE. Won't even touch an FPS on a console without that. IMO
Need something to justify that purchase.
I'm not sold that "we simply cannot wait for a sequel" is a good thing. This lends right into the review that there isn't enough variety or options. Sounds like they built a good racing engine with crisp graphics and solid controls, but don't offer enough "game". Basically they're saying that this game could be great "if". Well, I could say that about a lot of games, including a lot of Sh!tty ones.
If there are systems on the shelves then there is no need to reorder stock. Sony has used it's "sold numbers" congruently with "systems shipped". My local Best Buy has "SLOWLY" sold their PS3's and therefore have cut back on the number they order from Sony's distributors. I know this to be true as I'm personal friends with the regional manager of BB in Central Illinois, of which I'm a resident.
This would be great if they give us some downloadable content in the future (weapons pack, missions, and stuff). Armageddon was the SNEEZE!
DJ,
C'mon Man. He clearly wasn't saying that the other platforms weren't fun, but the Wii is a "different" kind of fun...."if you will".
As far as the cheap shot that you "quoted" from Kaz, well I'm sick of all this "copying" talk from all the companies. MS says it was their strategy, then Sony says they had that strategy before, then MS had the strategy an hour before that. Who cares? MS's strategy has been to deliver the...
However, if you don't have one of the mentioned systems yet then you'd like to know where you can get the best looking games. Right now it's the 360.
If you have a PS3 you're not going to run out and buy a 360 cause it looks a little bit better for a multiplatform game.
Bungie will need to continue to support Halo 3 by supplying regular updates and new maps for several years. This way MS and Bungie can afford for them to tackle a new project. Halo 2 wasn't supported as regularly as it should have been, and look at the continued popularity of Halo 2 despite the lack of support. I know they're releasing new maps this spring, but it should have happened last summer. Instead of adding 7-9 maps at one time, they should add a couple of maps every other month or so...
I don't care about white or black 360's, unless this is also some form of an IPTV set top box as well. If that's not the case, then just sell me 120GB HDD separately and I'll be fine.
Just like Vice City for XBOX.
I was playing some BTB last night on Containment, and I was thinking to myself how much cooler the level would be with "Lost Planet snow". The snow in "Lost Planet" is right on and I'd like to see that in any potential snow levels in H3.
The HALO story is phenomenal and yet there are so many that knock it. The games themselves tell a great tale on their own, but if you get into the books then it offers up so much more. The story of the Chief and his adventure is one part of a much bigger tale, and there are times in the games (and obviously the novels) where there is heavy emotion. I wouldn't be totally surprised to see some MAJOR characters die in this final HALO, and in fact I'm expecting it. The HALO games/books are a stor...
I'd be really impressed if this game was on one disc. It should be, cause, as DJ mentioned, they will likely not have very many CG cutscenes. I'm pumped for ME!
I'm not trying to change your mind on what games you should like, but I share a similar view as yours in regards to RPG's. I don't have a lot of patience for RPG's cause of the often lack of action, but have you played KOTOR (1 or 2) or Jade Empire? Bioware's previous titles, as mentioned, totally encompassed me and showed me the type of RPG I was looking for. KOTOR 1 blew me away and had me playing over 120 hours (played the game through 3 times, light/dark/neutral). If you haven't played an...
What do looks have to do with a game being a AAA title?
I think the screens look pretty amazing. I don't play Halo cause it's the best looking game of all time, but rather cause the gameplay is the best around. On face, it's easy to look at the graphics as a gauge to how a game will succeed, but the graphics aren't everything in making a AAA title.
It can be 1080p all day long, but it doesn't matter when the graphics BLOW. It's not a 360 or PS3 thing, it's the fact that sports character models always suck balls! I love me some Virtua Tennis, but I've never enjoyed it cause I though it was a graphical powerhouse.
I'm really digging the new design and it looks real nice/uniformed with my Windows Vista Ultimate. Keep up the good work.
This HDMI talk is way overdone! It's not a big issue for this gen. Now, if MS or Sony didn't put HDMI in their NEXT NEXT generation systems then there would be problems. I use component right now for all of my HD connections and I don't see a problem with that for now.
Well, it's still Halo though. It may not be the final version on the demo, but c'mon you know you're going to want to play ANY version of Halo whether it's Beta or not.
These analysts should go ahead and predict the weather while they're at it.
I could always eat my words in the future, but I believe there is no way retailers/manufacturers are going to back out of HD-DVD so soon. It's like these analysts think the world population is going to start converting their DVD collections over to Blu-Ray. Nope, not happening that quick. There are some major players invested in both formats and neither will lay down for the other to take over. Neither...
